Bishop Wilton Half Marathon

Faye makes the uphill look easy!

Read all about it in the Pocklington Post!

The weather looked like it was going to be the Half Marathon's downfall this year but conditions ended up being not too bad on this gruelling course that took the runners in and around villages in the Wolds. With some incredibly tough climbs and steep downhills, the difficult terrain didn't put any of the Pock Runners off. Follow this link for some great photos taken by Clive Jeffery

Follow this link for some more photos now from the top of Givendale Hill by the fab Dave Gowans.

Mention must be made especially of the brilliant Megan Morris, who came in as first girl home in the two mile fun run, in a staggering time of 13 minutes and 22 seconds! Very well done Megan.

Get Your Kit On....

Most Pock Runners are aware that new kit (vests for starters) is on the horizon....and an email has been sent out to everyone about it. But for those who aren't on email, take a look at the pics of Helen Cross to the right and let us know what you think...not of Helen...of the running vest. Currently, numbers are being worked out for an initial order, so if you're interested, let Sarah Hargreaves know....or someone who's on email, and they can let her know.

Redcar Half Marathon

There was a great turn out by Pocklington Runners this weekend at the Redcar Half on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. It was probably better for spectators than runners who enjoyed the Spring sunshine, but Pocklington turned out some great results as ever. Follow this link for pics of very nearly everyone (apologies to Dave Barker)...although the Pock Runners' photographer missed him, the BBC didn't! (see left)

Wolds 20 Runners

The Wolds 20!

The Wolds 20 doesn't actually stand for the Wolds 20 Minute Run as most normal people may think. It, in fact, stands for 20 MILES.....a long way by anyone's standards. Anyway, the people photographed above actually understood this before they agreed to take part.....and still went along. Take a look for yourselves.....

Want to join Pock Runners?

Cross country runners at Thixendale

If you're interested in coming along and seeing what it's like, it doesn't matter if you're the next Paula Radcliffe or a bit of a plodder.... Everyone's welcome no matter what ability. Just come along to one of our Wednesday night training sessions. They're informal and fun.
