East Yorkshire Cross Country League 2013 - 14

Left Align
Got nothing better to do on a Sunday morning than turn out no matter what the weather and run around the countryside in a pair of shorts and a T shirt? Then the cross-country Winter League is for you!

Yes, you too can get soaking wet through; freezing cold and covered in mud....and it will not cost you a penny!

Seriously, it really is good fun and is an excellent way of becoming a stronger runner.

Interested? Clear your diary on the following dates and have a word with Patrick Piggott to get hold of a number.

  1. Sun 06 Oct - Bishop Wilton
  2. Sun 10 Nov - Drewton Woods, South Cave
  3. Sun 15 Dec - Langdale End, Scarborough
  4. Sun 12 Jan - Sledmere
  5. Sun 09 Feb - Welton
  6. Sun 02 Mar - Sewerby

There is no longer a race at Thixendale.

Race 1 - Bishop Wilton

Sunday 6th October 2013 Start: 11:00am

Approximately 10km hilly especially at the start and finish. Studs / grippy trial shoes recommended as mud can be widespread!! Note for 2013 the start has been re-located approx 300m east along the route due to a locked gate. Start now under the word "Milner Wood" on the route map.
The village pub, The Fleece Inn, on Main Street, has kindly agreed to runners using the pub toilets before and after the race. Please enter the pub by the left side door from the car park area. Please respect this facility and remove muddy shoes before entering the pub. No changing facilities or showers so arrive ready to run.
Parking is limited so car share if possible. Please park with consideration for the villagers and passing traffic (complaints about inconsiderate parking have been received in the past).
Club Strip
This is an inter-club closed league so club vests must be worn by all runners.
Available from Patrick in advance or on the morning of the race from 10:00am at the start (arrive early). It’s free so keep your number for all six races.
